    Default Repeating plans in Scheduler?

    Hi,

Eval going great so far. First clear night with ACP Expert last night in NM, and I had the scheduler making observations.

Question re the scheduler: is there a way to get it to repeat a particular plan some number of times other than duplicating the plan ad nauseam? If not, is there a convenient way to change a setting that is common to a bunch of plans, or the observations within them, other than deleting all but one, making the tweak, and then re-duplicating? If I want to tweak my moon-avoidance strategy, for example, I don't see any way to do it other than delete-and-re-dup.

Also, a suggestion for a future release of the web interface...

First of all, that web interface is slick! Probably old hat for long-time ACP users, but for someone getting back into the game after 10 years, it's pretty dang cool.

That being said, it would be nice if the guider status section said "starting" or "settling" instead of "idle" when it's starting up guiding and letting it settle.

Also, it would be nice if somewhere it said "waiting for meridian crossing" or similar when it's doing so. Of course one can always look at the log, but an at-a-glance indication would be handy, and it seems like it would be easy to implement.

Hi Russ -- Unfortunately no there is not a way to "repeat" a plan. This would have to be a Schedule Browser Editor function not a run-time function, since Plans are independent of each other in terms of when they run (even if they might specify the same conditions etc.). Adding this would be a huge job given the lean and mean architecture of the schedule browser (which allows editing the database basically).

While tuning the Moon Avoid, just make one plan and test with that. You don't have to delete/re-create, ust change the constraint, re-submit and try again. Are you aware of the worksheet links (in the input forms, not the Schedule Browser)?

On the other suggestions, I have filed them as a wishlist item. No promises on these :-)

Thanks, Bob. Yep... I've been studying and using that moon helper.

OK. I hope you understand the architecture reason for not having "repeat" for plans. You found the secret - export and repeatedly import. YOu might look at the Astro Imaging input form which breaks down many-hour requests into chunks needed to give flexibility to the scheduler.

I think I can do this.

This is supposed to be working now. Under the "Activity" column it should say "Wait Flip" when waiting for meridian crossing. Maybe you have your system set up so it doesn't ever wait? You should ... most higher end mounts can track farther past the meridian than the longest exposure time.

The enhanced guider startup status is now in for 8.4.
