Default ACP not closing at dawn.

    Hello Bob,
This issue is one I have had for some time. But I have not rushed for a solution - I'll "see to it one day syndrome".
But since you are heading for retirement I thought I should act!
When the dawn shut down happens my scope parks and the dome closes and parks properly.
The problem is that ACP doesn't think the scope is parked and so the shutdown of equipment is not done as its waiting for the scope to park.
For example, the camera is not warmed and equipment is not disconnected.
I have attached a screen shot and some logs.
As you can see ACP is reporting Az 244.79d and Alt +74.87d.
In fact APPC reports the scope parked at Az 359 59' 57.7" and Alt 00d 00' 28.3".
Physically the scope is parked and this can be seen on the 3D scope view.
I am running the latest versions of ACP, Scheduler and MaxIm. I don't have the scope and dome connected to MaxIm.
    Thanks
    Peter

It appears that the mount is not reporting that parking has completed, leaving ACP to sit there waiting. First thing to check is the AP software. Do you have the latest version. Same with any firmware for the mount. If you are at the latest then We'll take the next step and record the interaction between ACP and the AP Driver and see if it's something else.

Hi Bob. Trips and weather have slowed the reply. I have installed the latest software and firmware. However, the parking dilemma still remains.

Can you see this happening? When you have a chance, unpark the scope with ACP, move it somewhere, then park it in ACP. Does it ever complete parking? Then repeat this test with the Telescope Simulator. If it parks OK, then the problem is with the mount. Let me know how this comes out. If it is in the mount, next step is to trace the ASCOM calls and create data for the mount maker to see.

Hello Bob. When ACP gets stuck on parking in the morning,APCC says the scope is parked. I have to abort the console output. When I click on Telescope in the ACP menu,, unpack is graded out.
    Thanks

Have you installed their latest update? There was a version that would not report AtPark to indicate parking completion and what you are seeing would be the exact symptom.

    Hi Bob,
    Thanks for the reply.
Are you referencing an ACP update. I'm currently on 9.2.1
    Thanks

I'm sorry, no, it was an Astro-Physics update. The mount is not setting AtPark after completing a park.

    Hi Bob,
I've done all the updates, and even though APCC says the scope is parked, ACP doesn't see the scope as parked and so shut down does not happen. I have to manually do the shut down.
    Thanks
    Peter
