We've had a few reports of goofy/random problems here when updating from Windows 7/8 to 10. I did an online call today where the installer would not register some components but they would register fine with the same exact command from the CMD shell. Same installer for Windows 7/8 no problems at all. Now I see some grumblings on Cloudy Nights about Windows 10 updates. Take this info with a grain of sale (skepticism) as CN has some eccentric people on it, along with some very competent ones.

Bottom line: If you don't have a burning reason to upgrade from Win7 to Win10 you might want to focus on getting astronomical data (images) rather than experiencing Microsoft's leading edge ideas.
