I’m using an RCOS scope with an RCOS rotator driven by the TIMS. The positive soft limit is set to 235 and the negative is set to -130. I have an AO and I want it to rotate to obtain a bright guide star, which happens to be at 320 degrees (sky angle). When I try to image with ACP it will rotate the rotator into the 235 positive soft stop and will go no further. This happens to correlate to 217 degrees in the sky. ACP reports no error, but just goes on to image at the 217 degree sky angle. I suspect that it should be rotating towards the opposite direction (negative) to reach the 320 sky position. What gives?
