I've I believe finally resolved this problem. The camera has both a USB and LAN port you can have both connected at the same time. At power on the FIRST port to be accessed then locks the other one out. Rather nice if you are remote observing since this provides a backup link. However, when I got the camera the LAN port either wouldn't connect or had a huge packet loss ratio. So, after a lot of back and forth with Andor in Belfast they were able to easily reproduce this failure. If your having difficulty with the LAN they will fix your camera for free. They have had a bad NIC and thus it's an easy fix. Not user serviceable though I'm posting in case others had this issue. The LAN port only downloads at about double the USB speed NOT at 10/100/1GB unfortunately.
Well hope this helps
