    Default trouble installing planner

I'm trying to install planner on my laptop so I can work on plans away from my scope set up.

I have ACP installed already, to help in configuration and learning about operation while I'm on this laptop.

I downloaded latest planner installer. When I try to execute, it runs along to where status bar is just past about 3/4ths finished and I get an error..."object already exists".

get no other feedback of what the problem could be.

    high-end laptop, win7 64bit.

    Help!!!

No... That's the first report like that. What OS? Can you take a screen shot of the error and attach it to your reply?

OK. This is a new one on me, and I can't reproduce it here. I would like to log onto your system and look around to see if I can spot some clue(s). I will be in the office Wed-Fri 8-5 MST/PDT (mostly). Let me know a time or two...

Thanks Bob for reaching out to me and trying to get this fixed....its not on your side of the fence!!! As I mentioned to you on the phone, I had another issue installing other software last week....just never found out why....with the same message 'Object already exists'.....when I couldn't get Planner to install, I had a 'serious' reason to get this figured out!!

Have spent a great deal of time tracking this down....and I figure it out.

In mid august there was a security update to windows....and it broke some installers.

This article talks about windows 8, but I found others that mention Windows 7.....

I uninstalled this security update, rebooted.....and Planner installs just fine now.

    Add to your knowledge base!!!

    Nice detective work!!!!

It seems to affect only certain people. I hope MS will come out with a repair and that this problem will go away.
