Default AP 1200 using ASCOM driver issues stopping mount

I made the mistake using ACP remote without knowng mre about it. But I know this, when ACP stops tracking on my mount and I turn it back on in the sky X, it is now off the time it sat. So if I have tracking off an hour from ACP and then turn it on inSky X, I am now 15 degrees off from where the Sky X thinks the mount is

This is not looking good. It will be easy to verify when I am back on site

I need to know if there is anyone out there usng a AP 1200 CP2 with the astro Phyics V2 Ascom driver, not the Sky X driver

Do you have to turn back on tracking with ACP to get the mount back in Sync with the Sky X while it was off. That is the only think I can think of

Lots of people use the AP driver with all sorts of software, not just ACP.

Dean, you have almost certainly been bitten by the TheSky X bug which stops Sidereal Time when it is minimized. The easy way to avoid all of this is to (a) not use TheSky to control your AP, and (b) use the factory-supplied APV2 driver and connect ACP to the mount directly. TheSky is adding nothing, and you are using third-party code (written by Matt Bisque or ??) instead of the driver that Astro-Physics ships with the mount.

Secondly, ACP stops tracking when it is not actively observing for mount safety. What if your plan acquires an hour of data on a setting target, leaving the scope pointing low/west, then your next target rises in 3 hours... your scope wouild track down towards the floor. maybe hitting a stop or stretching a cable... etc.

I think you are trying to live it 2 worlds at the same time... ACP versus your current ways of doing things. I see I have your phone # in my noebook, so I'm going to try calling you... I feel bad that you're having so much trouble.

PS: Here is the raw link to the Bisque Forum article http://www.bisque.com/sc/forums/t/19760.aspx (the link above in the text also works, but you need an account on the Bisque Forums).

Calling me is not going to work, but I can call later today. I use the apv2, always have. But I think parking the mount when waiting is a better idea because now the sky x is happy and the telescope is safe. So maybe there needs to be something in preferences giving the user a choice.

Will have to talk about the sky x bug on phone because I minimize it because of Internet speed, so I don't think I have that issue. . Believe me if I don't need sky x that would be great. But I need a pointing model.so have to use it.

I am not having that much trouble, just should not be using something new remote, I tell that to every other remote imager I set up for so I should be doing the same

OK, I'll be in the office on and off this (Wed) afternoon and most of tomorrow. Be sure to leave voice mail if I don't answer. I won't be in Friday for the funeral service for Officer Jair Cabrera.
