Hi Folks:

I’m having a little auto-guiding my Paramount ME. ACP, Maxim and SkyX are doing their jobs, so there’s no problem with ACP setup or calibration. The problem is that the autoguide run begins, and stops guiding mid-way through as the star jumps around. So I’m looking for tips on settings that people use to guide their Paramount ME. The Paramount is pretty rock solid (see below), so I’m trying to apply guiding to a mount that’s tracking extremely well.

Here are my settings:

.5 second guide images taken through the clear filter

Aggressiveness: X=1; Y=3

Cal. Time: X-Axis = 19; Y-Axis=20

Backlash: X=Y=0

Anti-Stiction: Off

If your Paramount ME guiding is doing well, please let me know your settings. The good news is that I have a 328 super-model working with PEC loaded, and the ME is doing an outstanding job on 5-minute images without guiding.

Thanks for any advice,

Rob
