Using a local copy of the NOMAD star catalog with ACP/Pinpoint ?

I recently got the full copy of the NOMAD star catalog.
I was wondering if I could use that rather then the UCAC3 catalog that I am currently using with ACP/Pinpoint?
The feature notes only mention NOMAD access via the internet.

Yes, PinPoint has only internet access for NOMAD. Stay tuned for UCAC4 which will be the one to use in preference to NOMAD or B1.0. I should have that out soon. I may completely remove B1.0 and NOMAD support since USNO is saying that UCAC4 replaces the others, and NOMAD has some real problems.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the update - I have UCAC4 as well - look forward to the additions - I have been using UCAC3 up until now.
I am a bit surprised about NOMAD - I had thought it combined many of the newest catalogs 2mass ... etc. - good to hear your opinion it is helpful.
