    Default Info in "instruments" in web browser incorrect

    I let a soon to be new customer log on to my system tonight. He was looking at the category instruments and equipment. I then looked at (never did so before) and some of the data is incorrect. The aperture is correct, but then everything else isn't. It says my focal length is 1422 ( it really shouldn't be but that's what plate solves read) it says my f ratio is 9.4 ( it's really 7.9) the detector info is wrong it says my pixel size is 9.0 x 9.0, it's really 7.4 x 7.4. and of course that means my FOV is also incorrect. Where is ACP getting this data, and does it matter if that info is incorrect? My true F/L is supposed to be 1200 (a 6 in refractor at f 7.9) I know ACP reports 1422, but maybe that's because the pixel size is wrong?

    Post a log file. PinPoint does not lie. The pixel sizes are read directly from the camera driver (supplied by the camera manufacturer) via MaxIm's scripting features. The Focal Length comes from what you set into the ACP Preferences, Telescope tab. If the plate solves say that your focal length is 1422 then it is 1422/ The only way that could be wrong is if your camera is reporting the wrong pixel sizes. YOu say that ACP shows the wrong pixel sizes (9.0 vs really 7.4)??? Then that is probably the root of the evil. Whatever kind of camera you have, it's reporting the wrong pixel sizes.

    Here's the log data. It's Apogee Alta. ACP is using the Apogee Alta USB/Driver. There's no place to change any settings in that driver for which camera it is. Does this really effect anything anyway?

    We logged in this morning and ran a simple script to read out the pixel sizes, and it's definitely reporting 9 microns! So this one will need to be solved by Apogee. Maybe you have a different sensor (maybe a more expensive one ).

    Apogee confirmed that data is generated by their software. A table is created based on camera model. They are looking to see why my camera model info is not in the table with the correct data. They will probably send me a patch to fix the problem.

    Poifect!! If they do, be sure to change the Focal Length in ACP. You may not have to, as ACP will "patch" it if it sees that it is too far off.
