    Default M 51 & M 82 w/full moon

    Hi All,

If you put your scope away when the moon's out, you're missing an opportunity for some pretty nice B&W imaging. For those of us who image from the suburbs, B&W imaging with the moon out isn't all that much different than imaging during our moonless nights. Consider this a friendly challenge for those imaging from dark sites!

Here's 2 images taken over the last 3 nights during a rare stretch of good weather. M 51 is 13 hours of exposure; M 82 is 6 2/3's hours.

    Enjoy.

    Jim

Lovely!! I am always amazed at what you are doing with your modest setup. Your work exceeds that of some people I know with far more expensive setups in better skies!!

Lovely images, just wonderful, especially M 51. I wish I could take one as good as this.
