    Default ACP Run/Log Analyzer

    Hi all,

I'm posting a log from ACP Analyzer for review. It was taken from last night's imaging session where the seeing was good for my location and winds relatively calm. I'm posting this for 3 reasons:

    1) If you haven't use ACP Analyzer yet to see how well your setup is performing, you're missing a great analytical tool.

    2) ACP performed flawlessly (as well as all my hardware).

    3) This was a pretty good night in terms of results. There were no failures (autofocus, guiding, plate-solving, target-centering, etc.), slewing was very accurate, and the image FWHM and focus HFD were essentially identical - meaning guiding was very good.

I think it would be interesting to see some other logs for comparison. For instance, according to the log, my overall imaging efficiency was 87% I think that's pretty good, but I have nothing to compare it to.

Kudos to Bob (for ACP) and Russ (for ACP Analyzer)!

    FWIW.

    Jim

This is really impressive. Jim, post a picture of your setup. That will make he point even better!!

Thanks, Bob. I can't say enough about the value of using ACP Analyzer...

This picture of my "observatory" is from a few years ago. The "dome" is folded up and laying on the platform. The only thing of substance that's changed is I no longer use an external guider, so it's been removed. It's been almost 10 years since I installed my setup and it's been outside ever since.

Jim, many thanks for the kind words about Log Analyzer, and I'm so glad you find it useful. However, (and I know you know this) for the benefit of others reading this, YOU deserve a ton of credit for all the time and effort you put into making Analyzer what it now is. And, of course, as you say, Bob deserves an Oscar and a BAFTA (and possibly a Nobel) for his work on ACP and ASCOM :-) … Oh, and I'm writing this on the new Metro version of IE 10 (and it won't let me add carriage returns!), so I wonder how difficult it would be to create a Metro version of ACP … :-) Best wishes Russ
