    Default 110FL M42 Narrowband

Here are a couple of M42 images acquired from my suburban backyard here in South Florida. Total imaging time is 17 hours over several nights using ACP and narrowband filters (216 images).

    HST pallet O3=R, HA=G, S2=B

    CHFT pallet HA=R, O3=G, S2=B

    Scope: TEC 110 f5.6
Camera: FLI ML16803 using Anti RBI.
    Mount: Paramount MX

    Maxim for Calibration
CCDstack to register and stack and combine groups of stacks images
Pix Insight for creating color image and removing background gradients
Photoshop for very mild unsharp mask and minor color tweaking (I do not believe in heavy handed Photoshop techniques to skew data)

    Enjoy,

    Tim

Beautiful images here, Tim. I prefer the HST version myself, though the CHFT is probably the more "real." It's very interesting to blink the two.

Thanks Dick, both pallets have nice qualities to them, and once you have one processed its easy to interchange the RGB assignments and get the other rendition.

I did try adding 33% of Halpha to S2 in the CHFT pallet, this created a nice almost real color image...but did not save it, however I can easily recreate it.
