Default *** WARNING About DDWCP And Ascom 5.5 ***

Digital DomeWorks Control Program (the standalone program not the DDW ASCOM driver) contains an old/outdated version of a component that is part of the ASCOM Platform and serves the Chooser, the Driver lists, and driver private data. Installing DDWCP after installing the Platform 5.5 will wreak havoc on your ASCOM installation. If you follow a DDWCP install by any ASOCM driver install or reinstall, those drivers will not show in the ASCOM 5.5 Profile Explorer.

Has this been fixed in 6.0? I'm suddenly having difficulties connecting to my dome. I'm using ACP Hotfix 4.0 and Ascom 6.0.
    Thanks,

6.0 what? It cannot be fixed in the ASCOM Platform, this is a hijacking of a Platform component by the DDWCP installer.

However, the issue of this thread has nothing to do with whether you can connect to the controller or not. It has other ugly consequences.

If you are "suddenly" unable to connect to your dome, check hardware first. Well, unless you installed some software that somehow has to do with your dome. Start up the DDWCP program and see if IT can cponnect. Then go back to ASCOM, using the POTH tool (Windows Start menu, All programs, ASCOM Platform, Scope Dome Hubs), Select the TI dome type, etc. That prog does the same simple stuff that ACP does when connecting: Load the driver, Connect, period.
