MultiStar guiding in ACP?

I just re-read the Jim McMillan paper on Guiding issues; it has been a few years since I last read it. I see that it has an addendum now regarding using multiple stars for guiding, and now there is a Maxim addin by John Winfield to do this.

Does this work from within ACP, or is it strictly for manual use?

Hi Brew,

That plugin was merely a proof of concept which Jim used to make some measurements.

I've since done some more work on it, but it's still not finished.

It would ideally get incorporated into Maxim, at which point it could "just work" from ACP.

Probably some time away yet, but I'm still hopeful it could offer a real-world improvement in the state of the art for guiding.
