Autoguider stopped

I would like to ask for guidance in tracking down an error that is increasing in number. I use a DSI Pro as my guider. What I have been experiencing is an increasing number of autoguider failures.

The message in the log is a cryptic:
(**autoguider stopped on its own)

Any suggestions as to where I might begin?

All ACP knows is that, when it looked expecting to see the guider running, it instead found that the guider had stopped. It asks MaxIm to report the run/stop status of the guider and MaxIm reports yes/no. ACP does not monitor the guider during an exposure, it only looks between or before exposures.

Guess: the connecting hardware (USB? serial? Usb-serial?) or the camera itself is experiencing more frequent communication errors or ??? I'd look at the power supply of the DSI first.
