Default Where is the list of installed drivers?

    Bob

Can you point me to the computer location of the list of telescope drivers in the ACP Setup.
I tried to install a new driver but it did not appear in the list.

If you have the ASCO Platform 5.5 installed, go to Windows Start Menu, ASCOM, Tools, Profile Explorer. There you will find a graphical display of the driver info known to the Chooser.

What driver? Was it supplied by an equipment maker? If so, have you contacted them?

    Default driver

It was the old Ajai RCX400 driver.

    Default No

The new driver is not found in the Ascom Profile Explorer, not in the ACP Preferences Telescope Setup. Where did it go?

OK, then Ajai did not use the recommended way of registering the driver for the Chooser. Thisis probably bad news, but you can try hand registering it in the profile explorer. Do you know what its ID is (Somethingorother.Telescope)? If not, then things get more difficult. Once I know the answer to that we can proceed.

    Default Cannot find it

    Bob

Where would the name be located? I searched for .Telescope.
Perhaps you could try installing it on your computer and locate it .
You can get it at http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/RCX400/files/

This is getting difficult. I did install MeadeRCXSetup4212RC2.exe, and I ended up with the driver MeadeRCX Driver.exe, as well as FixTheSky6AndMeadeRCX.exe, FixTheSkyAndMeadeRCX.exe, and TheSkyAndMeadeRCXFix.exe. For reference, this nonsense is long gone from other ASCOM drivers. Years ago the ASCOM developers provided an installer kit that handles the DCOM issues needed by TheSky.

I can't find the primary entry in the Windows OS object browser, but I did find some sub-classes listed. My best guess is "MeadeRCX.Telescope".

I saw some traffic on the ASCOM Talk list on this too. I'll ask the same question here: Why would you want to use a really old, unsupported, incomplete, unreleased driver? Just for focusing? The LX200GLS driver is reputed to be OK for the RCX except for focusing? I may be wrong...
