    Default timing feature question ...

If I've enabled timing features, and built a little bit of "fat" into my estimates in prefernces, I notice that ACP will correctly wait for the allotted time before it starts a subsequent image.

However, I'm curious to know what would happen if I have not allowed enough overhead time in my preferences, and gradually over the course of a list I start to run out of time. Will ACP ever skip any images ? Or does it always image everything in succession even if I've underestimated observing time overheads ?

    Thanks,

    Paul

    Hi Paul,

ACP will image everything in succession. If the time to complete a certain sequence of images goes beyond the next #waituntil, then ACP just ends up ignoring the #waituntil directive.

The idea of having a directive such as "#imageuntil" has been discussed a number of times over the years, but it's never gotten too far up the priority list with Bob.

    FWIW.

    Hi Paul,

One other possibility is that as time gets out of sync with your plan, you might find that targets won't start because they've gone beyond your observable horizon, or you may not get all the images you expect because the target moves past the observable horizon during a run. I don't know what your horizon looks like, but it's a possibility.
