Default Pinpoint licensing in Windows 7

I just upgraded my operating system to Windows 7, and when I run pinpoint it gives me a licensing error, which I guess is normal, but when I expect it to pop up a window for me to insert the license information, I get an error "Run-time error '429': ActiveX component can't create object" in a window with title PPReg. This is Pinpoint version 4.0.39. I hope you can suggest a solution.

    Thanks,
    Dale Gary

In the Windows Start menu, look for PinPoint, then Register PinPoint. Once that's open fill in your license info.

Er... if you have a license, why are you posting in the Pre-Sales area? Did yo not get permissions for the premium forums? If not and you have a license email us back and we'll fix it.

Thanks for the reply. RE: this second reply, it appears that I cannot see the technical support forums. RE: the first reply, I tried to enter the license from the start menu. Three errors occur (the first two may be normal):

    1. PinPoint registry access failed 1, code = 5
    2. The 60 day trial period has expired. You can purchase...etc.
    3. Run-time error '429': ActiveX component can't create object

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling (and restarting windows 7), but the above sequence still occurs.

Ah, never mind. I just tried running the Register PinPoint in Administrator mode and it worked fine. It is working now. Sorry for the bother.

OK, I get what happened. Indeed you must be running as an administrator
in order to install things and also to register licenses.
