It's working!!! I am so glad to have gotten a quiet day to address that long-standing bug of raw HTML being in the mailed subscription messages. It's not my code, it's huge and complex, it's poorly documented, and it's in a language I'm not familiar with (PHP).

I can't seem to figure out why sometimes it treats my email posts (in HTML!) as text and wraps them, yet other times it treats them as real HTML. You can see the difference by those email posted messages of mine that are wrapped narrow. Those are the ones it thinks are text and not HTML (even though they are). It may be the lack of some HTML tags (well see...) like this That EI plugin is a beast!!!

At least I figured out what was going on with the outgoing messages being sent as text but with HTML content!!!
