    Default Rotator applet won't run

The Rotator Controller applet fails when the Choose... button is selected with the following message: Run-time error '430': Class does not support Automation or does not support expected interface.

RotControl.exe is ver 2.0.0.0 dated 6/29/09. Hotfix 9 has been applied. All other software is working as expected (ACP, Maxim DL, The Sky, ACP Planner, etc.).

I am running XP Pro SP3.

I suspect an installation problem but need advice to proceed.

By the way, my Pyxis rotator connects to Maxim so the ASCOM driver is operating correctly.

Thanks for your help, Chris Murray

I updated my Pyxis ASCOM controller with 1.0.4 -- that updated 1.0.0, not sure if that is the problem, just a thought.

    Default Problem solved

Problem solved by reinstalling ASCOM Platform (although platform was current and working fine with other apps - including ACP).

    Hello,Chris

I am troubled with the same problem, too.
I took your report into account and did a reinstallation of ASCOM5a.
    But it does not improve.

    I updated from ASCOM4.1.
This problem is updated from ASCOM4.1?

    Hiro --

Try the attached RotControl.exe. The ASCOM developers are chasing a problem with one of the properties of the Chooser. I altered the call in this program to a similar function and it helped Bill Mattil.

Unzip and replace RotControl.exe with the one in this zip file.

    Hello,Bob

It worked well when I replaced "RotControl.exe".
I do not yet test the shooting, but will work well.

    Thank you
