    Default FMx Update V3.4.18 (attachment)

    Hello Bob--

    Happy New Year!

I have uploaded an updated version of FMx V3.4.18 to your site.

    1. AcquireStar will now select stars form the catalog with increasing Alt toward zenith from current telescope position. This should avoid the possibility that a star is selected that is at or below a user defined horizon constraint (this bit me once).

    2. Bug fix that now permits user to unselect Show Histogram at window startup

    3. Added additional messages to Log pertaining to PP

    4. Fixed a bug where FMx may not find the Help or Technical Paper file for some users.

    5. Enhanced DimStar feature to use the user defined multiplier based on current exposure time until the minimum flux is achieved. It will no longer start at 1 sec.

    6. Misc small bug fixes.

Let me know if you cannot find the file and I will email it separately.

    Clear skies,

    Steve

    Bob--

I created a message, scrolled to the bottom of the page to 'Additional Options' pressed 'Manage Attachments', selected the file and it appeared to upload.
I will email the file to you separately this morning just in case it was not uploaded or can not be found.

    Default Latest Focusmax 3.4 ?? or 3.6??

In some areas of ACP installation it states you need FocusMax 3.6 ?? or better.

But the latest FocusMax from the Yahoo forum seems to be 3.4.22. Is this just a ACP typo?

Also the getting started section of ACP pops up a window that appears to be warning
that you need a newer version of FocusMax than 3.4.22.

    Is 3.4.22 OK?

    Thanks,

Yes, there is a typo in the Getting Started which says:

Now run FocusMax and make sure you have the latest version (3.6.18 or later).

I think it should say 3.4.18

    I have 3.4.22 also.

    Hi Rick,

Yeah, the "3.6.18" that appears at the bottom of the "Step 1: Software and Catalog Installation" paragraphs in "Getting Started" is a typo - it should have said 3.4.18. Are there other places where this appears to be wrong? (This is the help file for ACP version 5.)

FocusMax 3.4.22 is the latest update version of the .exe file. If you downloaded it, just drop it into the FocusMax folder, right on top of whatever earlier version is there.

Regarding the popup window, are you talking about clicking the button in step 3 of the "Software Installation Checks" in "Getting Started?" I don't understand why that would cause you a problem, unless the whole FocusMax package was not installed right? It works okay for me. Did this work before and now it's not working?
