Hi Bob.
Just a heads up....
From this autumn's (2024) regular Windows 11 platform update to build 24H2, Windows 11 will require devices sharing files across a network via the SMB protocol to use secure signing.
If I understand the forthcoming change this means that if ACP wants to access a network device that uses the SMB protocol to transfer files, to read a one-line data file for weather safety for example, then the client device has to provide a user name and password that is pre-configured in the host device.
I'm not a programmer and most of this is beyond my level of understanding and maybe it will have no impact on ACP although as a user of Lunatico Astronomia's SOLO and CloudWatcher for weather safety I was accessing the SOLO's one-line data file, that does use the SMB transfer protocol, until just recently when I switched to the ASCOM conditions monitor instead.
