    Default New observatory, second mount

I've been offline for the last 2 years after moving and delays in building a new observatory about 150 miles away. The new observatory is almost complete and will have 2 permanent mounts. I have one copy of ACP but will need a second copy, what is the pricing for that (ACP Expert)?

I plan to have a computer attached to each mount and a central computer to manage the roof, weather station, uploads, etc. ACP will only be running on the mount computers. Does ACP have the ability to coordinate activities so the central computer can confirm that both mounts are parked before closing the roof?

    Thanks

So this new observatory had a low hanging roof such that the mounts must be parked to safely close? If I'm reading you right, then you'll need to give both ACPs a weather input (mnimum safe/unsafe) so they can each park the mount. But you will need an independent controller and sensors that will detect the parked position of both mounts and close the roof only after they are both parked. I suggest you don't depend on software to close. You do realize that your chances of exposing your equipment to rain/snow/etc. are doubled. Also ACP, and maybe your mount controller/driver, are not 100% foolproof for parking either but lots of people do depend on it.

I'm sorry to seem so harsh. Since the observatory is new and possibly unattended, is it possible to provide an architectural solution in which the roof can close regardless of telescope position? Then you need only have your weather sensor provide a hardware closure signal to protect your equipment, no position sensors etc. If the observatory is attended (though 150 miles away) I would have the weather sensor set off a loud alarm and have the local staff close up safely.

The observatory is unattended and basically I was asking if ACP could fulfill that role of an "independent controller" coordinating the inputs, so I'll deal with the issues but you answered the basic question, thank you. What is the cost of a second copy of ACP Expert?

If you plan to use both telescopes at the same time, then it's the normal price. But if you're going to use one or the other, you can share a single license. Thanks for asking.
