Default Scheduler did not create a new folder in Dropbox even with scripts customized to

    Hello,

We established the custom file naming and folder depositing for images through ACP Scheduler ImageFileConfig.txt. The file names were written, but the folder in Dropbox was not created by Scheduler. How do I fix this?

    The ImageFileConfig.txt file reads: [*]C:\Users\User\BRIEF Dropbox\BRIEF shared\$USRNAME\$PLNNAME\$DATENITE\$DATEUTC-$TIMEUTC-$PLNNAME-$IMGFILT-$IMGSEQ

FOLLOW UP: When I created a new user in ACP to test this, it did instantly create a folder for that new user in C:\Public\Public Documents\ACP Web Data\Doc Root\Images

So, have I messed something up that it auto saved to this folder and not the Dropbox link? The above ImageFileConfig.txt line shows how it is written.

It will always create that default folder, but it should have placed the images into the custom folder. Let's look at this in another debrief. It will be more efficient. I'm available Friday.

Ok. Time on Friday? I’ll be in Paris and will get near a Wi-Fi reception when you want to debrief. Otherwise I’ll be back in the states again Sunday and will not leave again until the 9th.

It did not place them in a custom folder.

SRO was clear for a few minutes yesterday. Some images shot, but they did not write to the Dropbox even after we adjusted the txt file by adding a single space. How do I fix this?

I need log files. Since you are using a multi-user system and I don’t know if the run was requested by the obs operator or a logged in web user I can’t tell you where to get them. If I know whose Project and Plan, I might be able to log in and see the log.

We’ll get there. This system works elsewhere.

    Sorry....how do I attach logs?

Also, we don't run this from the Observatory. Always as a web user. Please feel free to log into the system. I trust you.

    Hi Grady, (Bob,)

I did some experimenting with different specifications for "Dropbox" folders. I tested these in ACP as a local user, so the tokens used here are the ones equivalent to the similar Scheduler tokens. Grady, I did not match your tokens precisely since I was only trying to see what the folder results would be, and not the file naming, which I know will work for you.

These constructs created the correct folder hierarchy in the indicated places, and put images in them:

    C:\Users\Dick\BRIEF DropBox\BRIEF Shared\$TGTNAME\$TGTNAME-$DATEUTC@$TIMEUTC-$FILTER
    C:\Users\Public\BRIEF DropBox\BRIEF Shared\$TGTNAME\$TGTNAME-$DATEUTC@$TIMEUTC-$FILTER
    C:\BRIEF DropBox\BRIEF Shared\$TGTNAME\$TGTNAME-$DATEUTC@$TIMEUTC-$FILTER
    C:\Users\Dick\Desktop\BRIEF DropBox\BRIEF Shared\$TGTNAME\$TGTNAME-$DATEUTC@$TIMEUTC-$FILTER

These constructs did not create folders:

    [*] C:\Users\Dick\BRIEF DropBox\BRIEF Shared\$TGTNAME\$TGTNAME-$DATEUTC@$TIMEUTC-$FILTER
    [*] C:\Users\Public\BRIEF DropBox\BRIEF Shared\$TGTNAME\$TGTNAME-$DATEUTC@$TIMEUTC-$FILTER
    [*] C:\Users\User\BRIEF DropBox\BRIEF Shared\$TGTNAME\$TGTNAME-$DATEUTC@$TIMEUTC-$FILTER
    C:\Users\User\BRIEF DropBox\BRIEF Shared\$TGTNAME\$TGTNAME-$DATEUTC@$TIMEUTC-$FILTER

-- When specifying these locations, all of the images went instead to the default $DEFPATH:

    [*] C:\Users\Dick\BRIEF DropBox\BRIEF Shared\$TGTNAME\$TGTNAME-$DATEUTC@$TIMEUTC-$FILTER,
    [*] C:\Users\Public\BRIEF DropBox\BRIEF Shared\$TGTNAME\$TGTNAME-$DATEUTC@$TIMEUTC-$FILTER
    [*] C:\Users\User\BRIEF DropBox\BRIEF Shared\$TGTNAME\$TGTNAME-$DATEUTC@$TIMEUTC-$FILTER,

-- When specifying this fourth failed location, ACP coughed with a "Permission denied" error in the AcquireImages.CreateFolder() function, because there was no user named "User":

    C:\Users\User\BRIEF DropBox\BRIEF Shared\$TGTNAME\$TGTNAME-$DATEUTC@$TIMEUTC-$FILTER

I think you have to conclude that "User" and "[*]" are not valid to create the variable Dropbox destinations for the image folders. The typical spec would use $DEFPATH, as in [*] $DEFPATH\$TGTNAME\$TGTNAME-$DATEUTC@$TIMEUTC-$FILTER. I don't know whether [*] can apply to Scheduler file configurations, and $DEFPATH won't be appropriate for a Dropbox address.

I hope this is helpful to your further analysis.

Grady -- I can't get the web site to answer. Maybe ACP is not running or there is a net outage at SRO.

Dick and Grady -- I was going to test this today so thanks for the "pre-test". "User" failed for you because you (Dick) don't have a user "User" but they (Grady) do on that system. It is an uunsual way to set things up ... at some time in the past they changed the Windows special Documents folder to map into DropBox (and the Windows username is "User"). I assume this was for some other software that didn't have a file mapping feature. Also their non-user-specific template is identical for the name part. For some reason it is not recognizing the [*] as a wildcard user name.

The [*] is how they manage users Dropbox deliveries at the Great Basin Observatory and who knows where else, and I don't know how I could have broken it.
