    Default Strange Behavior

    Hi,

ACP is running. MaxIm is running. Camera is not connected in either app. When I connect the camera from ACP's menu, FocusMax continuously starts up and quits in a cycle of about ten seconds. As far as I know neither ACP nor MaxIm are set up to automatically start FocusMax. But the question I have for starters is, I'm wondering what the shield in this graphic means after right-clicking on the FocusMax.exe app in its Program Files (x86) folder. The FocusMax.exe properties show FocusMax is NOT being run as administrator. Neither are ACP or MaxIm.

(It wouldn't surprise me if this were a Windows update problem...)

The shield just means that if you select that, it will run elevated. Have you looked at the FMX logs? What have you done on your system lately? Do you log your system/software changes?

I will bet big money that this has nothing to do with a Windows Update.

Right click on FocusMax.exe, select the Compatibility tab. Do you see any checkboxes set? If so turn them off. Also that sneaky “all users” button at the bottom can hide an elevated mode.
