Bob, Others,

I discovered this morning that using this tool now generates an error:
xmlerr.png
I looked at a number of online sites claiming to solve this problem, and the one that worked here is found in a response from 2010 (!) at: https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Fo...um=xmlandnetfx
I'm baffled as to why this just showed up as a problem. I know that this was working properly recently, so perhaps there's been a security change in Windows 10 that now blocks this tool from reaching the AAVSO website. I fixed the critical statement in the aaavso.asp file, and that fixed the issue. Other recommendations included changing permissions in the Internet Option/Internet Zone, but I am leary of opening up some "window" that might have other unintended consequences. I decided to change the code in aaavso.asp instead as a safer alternative. Plus, if you use the AAVSO Chart tiddler, you'd want it to work, too.
If you encounter the same error, then replace the existing aaavso.asp file in ...DocRoot/ac/ with the attached (drop the .txt suffix first, of course). Bob, I think you can replace this in your distribution version when you release version 8.4.
