All true, Bob, plus I don't know that I would bother with such a long correction interval. I run my guider (on a L-500 Planewave mount) with no delay at all, sometimes with 0.5 second guide exposures, so with downloads and mount motion I'm sometimes guiding at almost 1 Hz. Doesn't seem to hurt anything after > 1000 full nights of this practice on my systems.

If one is to believe Planewave that you only need to guide once per 8-10 seconds, then that system had better be really mechanically rigid, and polar alignment had better be near-perfect, and the guider calibration too.
