Default Windows 7, upgrade to 10 or not?

I'm on Windows 7 with the computer running ACP. I'm happy and everything works, but am a little concerned about future security. Any advice is appreciated. I am running Norton Internet Security.

    Thanks,

    Michael

I am still getting daily Windows 7 security database updates. I assume your Norton will continue. If your system is a dedicated observatory computer, and you don't visit sketchy web sites or open email attachments on that system, you're pretty safe. Also don't store bank info etc on it, or memorize passwords on your web browser. I will be keeping a Windows 7 system here for testing and plan to continue to support ACP on W7 for the foreseeable future.

I wouldn't count on Norton to keep your Win 7 PC secure. In fact, just today I got an e-mail from Norton, which essentially said "Any PC you keep on Windows 7, good luck, you're on your own for its security."

Well, today I got a quote to replace my one last Win 7 PC with a new (win 10 pro) PC.

By the way, if you get Win 10 Pro (not Home), Updates are no problem to control.

I got the same email. I have two identical computers (fanless Fit-PC4) in my observatory; one for imaging, and one for video cameras and file serving. I upgraded the file server yesterday to Win 10 Pro. All went well and it was FREE. I only turn on the computer with ACP when I'm imaging, so it should be a little safer. I'll probably upgrade that eventually too.
