Default **Guider waited for 10 sec and never got a measurement...

    Hi Bob,

After searching the forum...looks like we are having this similar guider problem in Jim's observatory in Texas. I have attached a Log file so you can review.

Guider is Starlight Lodestar used in 2x2 bin mode. I had first updated the driver in hopes of resolve the issue; however the issue persisted. Last week Jim installed a new USB guider cable in hopes to resolve the issue, again no luck. So we are are a loss, whether it is either a hardware or software related issue. We are using latest versions of ACP/Scheduler/Maxim, also the issue occurs on say 1/2 of the block plans that are run. Below is the setting within ACP Guider Tab

Since it is intermittent, and the guide star is super bright,

    01:33:24 (guide star SNR=42.0 X=230 Y=30)
    01:33:32 (autoguiding at 1.00 sec.)

and you are on MaxIm 6.20, my next guess is USB problems. Try a different/shorter cable, and if you are using a hub, check its power supply voltage. Also see this thread for USB auto-suspend/power control... maybe that is getting you.

PS: Who is Jim Wood? Do we need to change the contact info for this license?

Hi Bob Thanks for the reply, Jim Wood is a friend, he has his observatory in Texas, with my scope in there....So that does not affect my current ACP license.

Jim already replaced the USB cable, so I will try shorter exposures, if that doesnt work I guess he will have to add a industrial USB hub with shorter cables. At the moment the camera (lodestar) is directly connected to the computer USB ports without any hub as I am told. I will report back when we have success.

    Thanks,

    Tim
