Default Another big windows 10 coming

I got my notice that the big update is coming tomorrow. Some windows tips

When you have a working system, create a restore point. Windows does not do these as often as it did in the past. Before any updates with any software, create a restore point

You should create a image of your pc using a program that boots from the cd rom or flash drive. Any that run from windows is no good

If you do want to turn off windows 10 updates, you can load Services. Then look for windows updates in the list. You can change it to manual or disable. This does work. Keep in mind the windows updates are usually protection from outside world. So think about it

Thanks for the heads up! Found some details here:
    https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexp...3fesZHOzbmz.97

Am concerned about this new "Ransomware protections. To better protect against ransomware attacks, we’re introducing Windows Defender Exploit Guard that helps protect files from unauthorized changes by nefarious applications and your applications from unknown exploits. Additionally, Windows Defender Antivirus now has specific safeguards in place, along with default enhanced coverage that is delivered instantly via the cloud protection service."
I am concerned it will break or alter security, installers, and make it tough to do app updates and/or debugging.

The flash drive recovery system that can be made by Acronis True Image Home is excellent. Though it can be confusing to use, it has lots of utilities and capabilities for partition creation. I recommend Acronis for drive imaging. I started with it many years ago and used it to change disk drives in laptops.

Just ran the update. Sky x, maxim 6.13, focusmax 4 worked. Acp was locked so required install again, did not uninstall. Then you need the key to license it. For some reason scheduler never needs the key entered again. Maybe acp needs to do whatever scheduler does in the license world. Anyway, looks like it is all working. Connected everything and ran my shutdown script

Thank you very much for the report Dean!

I haven't run this yet. Did your settings remain? From your description it looks like the "big" W10 update last year. Glad to hear it responded to the re-run installer as did the previous "big" update.

Each time you run the installer, it pops up a message informing that the current web content is saved to the UpgradeSavedContent folder. Go there and get the latest author.html file and replace the “live” one in DocRoot with the saved one. In other words, copy the latest saved one on top of the “standard” one placed there by the installer. Now go into the Authoring mode and you will see all of your customizations. Save to web... and you’ll be back where you were. This only works when you are reinstalling the same version. You may lose improvements and fixes if you roll back to a saved earlier version. In years ur case, though, it’s totally OK.

Also if you want windows 10 to update but now and night, set the active time for the computer from 6am to 6pm. 12 hours is the max. This is what i do for every one here on my site, seems to work
