Ah... Thanks for that info!

I am not familiar with the innards of the SiTech/Planewave telescope controller. It is indeed the finest on the market today, period. Dan Gray, the Principal at Sidereal Technology, has done the astronomical world many favors by resurrecting old and mechanically wonderful scopes. By installing servics, encoders, and the SiTceh control system, those old scopes have new and much more productive lives.

One thing I will say, however, is that the controller should have reported an error ("attempt to slew TO limiting altitude" or something), rather than silently accepting the command then doing nothing at all. "Do it right or raise an error" ... the prime directive of modular systems. I will pass that along to Kevin.
