GMT Offsets
Hi Bob,
Tell me, please, how Planner interacts with ACP and with theSky or Starry Night Pro with respect to the GMT offset set up in each. Particularly, does Planner override if the others are set to different GMT offsets?
If I'm making plans sitting here in Washington DC, to run on a telescope at, say, New Mexico Skies, using SNP to select objects, what GMT offsets have to be set into which programs? In particular, does it matter if SNP/theSky has the observatory's time zone, or is set to the correct observatory latitude/longitude?

The planetarium needs to be set to the observatory's site, both location and time. Then, in Planner's preferences, set the UTC offset for the observatory. The result will be local times at the observatory.
Is that what you were looking for? I may have misunderstood....

Yes, thanks.
The problem was in SNP (for me) trying to set the time correctly. You have to set the new location as the home location, making sure the GMT offset is correct. Even if you set the GMT correctly, unless you make it the home location, that GMT offset won't otherwise "stick."

Ah ha... OK. I've been confused by that too.
