Interval directive
Hello,
I started practicing with the ACP Observing Plans. I am not quite sure about the INTERVAL directive. Is this the time in between exposures for multiple images or is it the exposure time for each image? I see it being set to a value even if the count directive is set to 1. For example
#COUNT = 1
#INTERVAL 300
Thanks,
Fred

Hi Fred,
#INTERVAL is the exposure time in seconds. The time between exposures (in the absence of some #WAIT... directive, is just the time it takes to plate solve the image, reslew if needed, and perhaps downloading the image from the camera. I have a small format camera (SBIG ST7), so for me that between-time for all that stuff is 10 to 12 seconds.
Plans must have a COUNT, INTERVAL, BINNING, and FILTER (if you have multiple filters in a filter wheel), plus optional other things like REPEAT or SET...
